Removable overdenture
The denture snaps onto implants and comes out for cleaning. It is the simpler route and often the more affordable one.
Implant dentures, Portland
An implant denture is a full set of replacement teeth held in place by a small number of dental implants, instead of resting on the gum alone. It can be removable, snapping onto the implants, or fixed in place. We plan the design with you and show you each phase and the estimate in writing.
The idea
A denture that moves while you eat is a daily annoyance. Anchoring it to a few implants is how many people get a steadier bite and a denture they stop thinking about.
Designs
The denture snaps onto implants and comes out for cleaning. It is the simpler route and often the more affordable one.
A set of teeth is attached to the implants and stays in. It feels closest to natural teeth, and needs more implants and careful cleaning.
The number depends on your jaw, the design and your bite. The 3D scan guides it, and the plan states it.
Both designs need regular maintenance visits and a home routine. We teach it and keep to it.
The path
We examine your mouth and your current denture or teeth, take a 3D scan and talk about eating, speaking and appearance.
You see the design, the number of implants, the phases and the cost in writing. Extractions, if needed, are part of the plan.
Teeth that cannot stay are removed, and implants are placed in stages. A temporary denture keeps you comfortable while the bone heals.
The bone bonds to the implants over several months. We check progress and adjust the temporary denture.
We take impressions or scans, try in the teeth so you can approve the look, then fit the final denture and check your bite.
Compared
A general guide. Your scan and bite decide what suits you.
| Option | How it is held | Taken out for cleaning | Implants |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conventional denture | Rests on the gum | Yes | None |
| Implant overdenture | Snaps onto implants | Yes | Usually fewer |
| Fixed implant bridge | Attached to implants | No, cleaned in place | Usually more |
In practice
Many people find an implant denture steadier for chewing than a conventional one, and speech usually settles within a few weeks. A fixed bridge is cleaned with special brushes and floss threaders, and Camille shows you how.
Neither design is a one-and-done. Dentures and implants both need regular checks, and parts wear. We build maintenance into your plan so it never comes as a surprise. Results vary.

A regular denture rests on the gum and can move. An implant denture is anchored to dental implants, so it is steadier. It can be removable, snapping on and off, or fixed in place.
Neither is better for everyone. Removable designs are simpler to clean and often cost less. Fixed designs feel closest to natural teeth and need more implants. We explain both in your plan.
No. You wear a temporary denture while the implants heal, adjusted as your gums change. We plan this before extractions so you are never without teeth.
It depends on your jaw, your bite and the design. The 3D scan guides the number and the plan states it. We do not recommend more implants than you need.
A removable one comes out and is cleaned like a denture, with the implants brushed. A fixed one is cleaned in place with special brushes and floss threaders. Camille teaches both.
We do not list prices on this site. After the consultation you get a written estimate showing each phase. Insurance may help with parts, and third-party financing is available.

An implant consultation is an exam, a 3D scan and a conversation. You leave with a written, phased plan and an estimate. Nothing is decided that day.
